Sweep Privacy Policy
Effective October 5, 2026 · Published by Exodus Solutions
Sweep is a card game. We built it to collect as little as possible: no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. This page explains exactly what the app handles and why.
What stays on your device
Your display name, settings, card-back choice, friends list, block list and any game in progress are stored only on your device. Deleting the app removes them.
What is shared, and only if you turn it on
Cross-network friends are off until you tap “Turn on” on the Friends screen or in Settings. When they’re on, Sweep uses Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit public database) to store:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your display name | So friends see who you are |
| Your Sweep player code (a random ID the app makes, not your Apple ID) | So friends can find and add you |
| When you were last active (only if “Show online status” is on) | So friends can see you’re online |
| Friend requests and game invites you send (names, player codes, room code) | To deliver them to the other player |
This data is used only to make friends and invites work. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to track you across other apps or websites. Sweep has no third-party SDKs.
Playing nearby
Nearby games connect phones directly over your local network (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth). Your display name and in-game moves are shared with the players in that game. In-game chat only sends built-in phrases — there is no free typing. None of this passes through our servers.
Camera
The camera is used only to scan a friend’s QR code. Scanning happens on your device; no photos or video are saved or sent anywhere.
Notifications
If friends are on, Apple’s push service may deliver friend requests and invites as notifications. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings.
Reports
If you report a player, the app blocks them and opens an email to us with their display name, player code (if known), where it happened, and your player code. We use reports only to review abuse and remove offending players.
Deleting your data
Open Settings → Privacy → Delete my profile & data. This deletes your profile and the friend requests and invites you sent from iCloud, clears your friends and block lists on the device, and gives you a new player code. Requests and invites other players sent to you belong to them. You can also email us to ask for deletion.
Children
Sweep is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has turned on cross-network friends, contact us and we’ll delete the data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
